Client: Shepherd Engineering Services Lakeside Academy in Telford is a new build school that combines primary and secondary education facilities, including a post-sixteen and community-focused function within the premises. Designed to provide modern educational amenities, the development offers state-of-the-art classrooms, science laboratories, and sports facilities. Its construction on a live school site required meticulous planning and coordination to ensure the safety of students and staff throughout the project. Our role involved delivering a coordinated and efficient design solution using Autodesk Revit software in a BIM Level 2 environment. Structural design We provided a detailed design of the building engineering systems, integrating LED lighting throughout and an innovative evaporative cooling solution to control peak temperatures in the main hall. Building systems integration This project was utilised as a testbed for BIM Level 2 delivery, aligning with the government’s implementation deadlines and demonstrating our capability in digital design integration.
