Katy Isaac joins Deetu, strengthening its expertise in engagement in the built environment

We are thrilled to announce that Katy Isaac has joined Deetu and BWB, bringing her extensive experience in engagement in the built environment. Katy has a proven track record of working with clients to use engagement to drive local and national economic growth.

With the rising need for housing and renewables developments across the UK, Katy’s expertise is a valuable addition to our team. Her appointment underlines our commitment to delivering innovative and forward-thinking solutions, ensuring that community voices and opinions are central to our projects.

Impactful experience

Katy is a community engagement specialist, finding innovative ways of working with and engaging the public with particularly sensitive issues work whilst collaborating with clients to advise and deliver complex stakeholder engagement, consultation, and communications strategies across a number of specialities.

In her former position at Lexington, Katy worked with clients across various sectors, including national housebuilders, logistics developers and renewable energy specialists. 

Before this, Katy held positions at WSP, working in the Engagement Team, and at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT), where she focused on staff engagement and behaviour change around the carbon reduction and Net Zero agenda.

Katy has an extensive portfolio, showcasing her leadership in stakeholder engagement and strategic communications across various high-profile projects:

  • Sustainable healthcare engagement: Produced and implemented an interactive staff engagement platform on sustainability and carbon reduction within hospitals, boosting staff engagement across the organisation by 5%.
  • Hertfordshire City Council: Delivering county-wide stakeholder engagement to inform the delivery of £6.4m of funding for active travel schemes.
  • Aston Villa Football Club: Securing planning consent for redevelopment of Aston Villa’s North Stand.
  • National Grid community relations framework: Successfully winning a place on the National Grid community relations framework.
  • Regeneration of Regent Retail Park: led the communications and engagement activity for the £1 billion regeneration of an out-of-town retail park in Salford.

Katy’s experience in these roles will bolster our ability to provide comprehensive engagement and consultation services, ensuring successful project delivery and community collaboration.
