Conscientious, people friendly, driven chartered surveyor.

Why I decide to do what I do

Fate! Was surplus to requirements (Not good enough) at football, missed the fast track Officer programme enrolment date for the RAF, applied to get on the Architecture course at University but was accepted on the Quantity Surveying course with the intention to switch courses after year one…..after a serious summer of partying in the Mediterranean forgot to switch and as a result never looked back, achieving my degree at Greenwich!

My potted history

Both School and university years were spent around football. Football finished following a knee injury and so had to find something else to do.

After graduating, remained in London for 2 years, leaving after soon discovering that a contractors QS life wasn’t for me. First job being on the London Underground remediating stations, whilst informative and great colleagues the fact that I didn’t see daylight Monday to Friday finished me off!

Returned to Sheffield with Monaghan’s, climbed through the ranks quickly and gained masses of experience in all market sectors on numerous contract forms. It was at this time that I was asked to move into the Leeds market to establish the presence of a London company called KHK Group……the office being on the floor above BWB Consulting and the introduction to two desperados by the names of Greg and Stefan.

In 2006, achieved a personal goal of developing a commercial and residential development company along with a former university colleague. Developed numerous large apartment schemes, hotel and commercial office developments throughout Yorkshire and London. Following the acquisition of this company by a larger operator made the decision to get back into surveying where I continued the relationship with BWB Consulting.

Over the years I’ve had numerous discussions with BWB on joining and expanding the service capabilities. The time now feels right, the market is turning and I’m looking forward to the next chapter….

The best project I have ever worked on at BWB

Its early days yet, but I am looking forward to getting stuck into some great projects.

What I like to do in my spare time

Enjoying being with the family, I have two young children. Spending time with friends, coaching junior football and constantly fitting it all around getting out on the road bike. My wife’s far too lenient!

What I hope to be doing 5 years from now

My early football days instilled the importance of working in a team. This ethos has never left me. In 5 year’s time hope to be enjoying the successes of BWB with my colleagues.
