Yorkshireman (not stereotypical I hope). Enjoy a pint of ale or two now and again, maybe I am stereotypical!

Why I decide to do what I do

I’ve always enjoyed problem solving and understanding how things work. When I was younger and visited the Nou Camp I thought “I’d like to design that”. Maybe one day.

My potted history

Bradford lad, finished school and went to University in Manchester to study Civil & Structural Engineering. Enjoyed 4 years studying and partying and somehow managed to get a Masters degree at the end of it all. Joined White Young Green as a graduate engineer for a couple of years before moving to a small practice called KMN Group in Leeds. I’ve been with BWB 10 years now and never looked back.

The best project I have ever worked on at BWB

The most challenging projects are usually the best. The landmark in Bexhill was a challenging site..8 Storey concrete frame with 2 storey basement on a busy roundabout next to the sea. The site visits were fun too.
All in all it’s working with likeminded great people that make the job enjoyable.

What I like to do in my spare time

Enjoy playing and watching sport. Mostly football, golf (badly) and skiing (even worse). I love to travel and experience new places. Most of all enjoying the company of family and friends.

What I hope to be doing 5 years from now

Hopefully celebrating 15 years at BWB, watching Bradford City in the Premier League and still slicing golf balls.
