Expert Witness Bookmark and Share

BWB has the in-house experience to provide expert witness services in relation to civil cases, planning inquiries and policy EIPs. We are able to provide specific advice across all our services with the following being common areas of work: Flood Risk & Drainage, Transportation Planning, Ground Conditions & Contamination.

BWB has established working relationships with many of the UK's leading legal practices and individual barristers. Covering a broad spectrum of engineering disciplines and sectors, our Expert Witness & Dispute Resolution service can be tailored to the specific circumstances of the case and generally follows a three stage approach:

STAGE 1: PRELIMINARY CASE APPRAISAL

A review of all documentary evidence to facilitate the preparation of a concise technical appraisal highlighting the relative strengths and weaknesses of the case.

STAGE 2: EXPERT WITNESS/EXPERT OPINION REPORT

If required and in consultation with the Client's appointed legal specialists, BWB can produce Detailed Expert Witness or Expert Opinion Reports.

STAGE 3: ATTENDING A HEARING

If necessary, our appointed Expert Witness will attend the hearing to present their evidence and be cross-examined. In addition, our witness will support the Client's barrister and the legal team in cross examination of opposition witnesses. For cases that have proceeded to a court of law, we are also able to provide Expert Witness services directly to the court, and thereby remain independent of both appellant and defendant.
