Desk Studies and Engineering Appraisals

We understand that time is a critical factor when acquiring sites, but we never forget that it is also vital to obtain an understanding of the engineering characteristics of a site as early as possible during the due diligence process.

We assist our Clients in quantifying the risks and opportunities associated with new acquisitions by providing flexible, pragmatic advice on key engineering issues; whether it be by producing a simple review document or getting more fully involved.

Full involvement is typically presented in the form of an Engineering Desk Appraisal, which covers the issues of transport, flood risk, drainage, ground conditions & utilities. It would involve full engagement with the local regulatory authority and site investigation work including topographical and building measurements, preliminary cut & fill earthworks appraisals, highway & drainage feasibility studies and cost estimates, abnormal cost appraisals and utility studies.
