The development is a proposed distribution park across a 40 hectare site to the west of Coalville. The site had many constraints, including potential mining subsidence, visual impact considerations and a significant earthworks exercise to consider. BWB's initial assessment of the ground conditions enabled us to suitably advise our Client on appropriate foundation solutions, which were particularly complicated given the extensive cut and fill required. BWB's extensive experience in developing such complex sites was essential in bringing forward a successful planning application.
The existing site has no active positive outfall and in order to obtain a planning permission, a detailed investigation of existing and proposed surface water catchments and discharge points was required. BWB proposed a Sustainable Drainage System (SuDS), which provided an improvement in ecology and habitat, whilst fully attenuating discharge from the proposed development.
