BWB's Client, Rendel were appointed by Eurotunnel as the Principal Contractor to design & construct a new Modalohr Station within Dollands Moor Depot in order to provide additional capacity for the loading/unloading of commercial freight vehicles on the UK Terminal. This will become part of an overall project known as 'Terminal d'Avenir. The new system will enable the loading/unloading of several wagons simultaneously.
BWB was appointed by Rendel as their rail design consultancy and instructed the start of GRIP 3 design for Signalling, Track & OLE. BWB acted as the main integrator for the delivery of Signalling, Track and OLE designs.
The project is nearing the end of GRIP stage 3, where BWB is providing a lead role in the interface with Network Rail.
