Prologis Park, Coventry

Prologis Park, Coventry

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Prologis Park Coventry is one of the country's most successful industrial parks. The scheme provides more than 2 million sq ft of mixed commercial/distribution development and is excellently located three miles from Junction 3 of the M6. Prologis Park was one of the first major projects that included all BWB's disciplines and where we earned our stripes for delivering major multi-modal enabling infrastructure. It also helped move BWB to the front of the consultant pack in the UK industrial sector.

BWB provided a truly integrated engineering and environmental service to assist in the redevelopment of this major brownfield former colliery site. The infrastructure comprised the construction of 5km of on and off-site roads, widening of the M6 Junction 3, drainage networks included two feature balancing lakes and the provision of rail link and sidings to the distribution buildings.

Key Challenges

Our involvement in acquisition, through master planning to detailed design, BWB was well-placed to understand all the critical issues and to deliver pragmatic and cost-effective solutions for the enabling works, including site remediation works, cut/fill earthworks and site plateaux, sustainable drainage solutions and highway design. This approach was continued in delivering the buildings.
