BWB were appointed to undertake a review and appraisal of the sewerage infrastructure serving 10 holiday parks in the Lake District to identify and agree a schedule of works for any required improvements.
3 of the sites had independent Wastewater Treatment Works providing the treatment of effluent from the sites. Various issues relating to the age and maintenance of the sewerage infrastructure were identified. A schedule of recommended remedial works and renewals were agreed with the Client.
Remote sites with limited access and consented outfalls into sensitive waters meant that providing a cost effective solution was challenging within the small area available.
Low energy and natural treatment techniques were considered to reduce carbon requirements and provide sustainable solutions.
