Katoen Natie's £15m logistical platform forms part of a wider £200m, LDPE plant built together with JV partners Huntsman International on the Wilton site.
The 30 shining silos, at 35m high, were an impressive addition to the local industrial skyline. The installation comprises a pellet de-dusting unit, a state-of-the-art bagging and palletisation line with a capacity of 50 tonnes per hour, a bulk loading system, a pneumatic transport line for transport to the bulk.
BWB Consulting provided civil and structural design, including blast resilience and, as lead consultant, also co-ordinated the industrial architectural input.
