BWB are delivering a range of multi-disciplinary services for the £100 million Brough South mixed-use development in Yorkshire. The 175-acre site in the town of Brough includes the former airfield of BAE Systems and will accommodate hundreds of new homes, a new primary school, retail space and leisure facilities plus commercial and industrial premises.
BWB were appointed by the Horncastle Group to carry out an initial project assessment with recommendations on further site investigation, Drainage Strategy, an Earthworks Strategy to lift the site out of a flood zone, Archaeology, Ecology, Utilities and detailed design of the first phase of the development comprising a residential area for over 200 houses and the primary school.
It is anticipated that the site will progress over the next few years to include up to 750 houses and a supermarket plus light industrial and commercial development areas.
Our work included the detailed design of an adoptable access road and daylighting of a culvert that runs through the site which carries a substantial surface water flow from the town of Brough into the Humber Estuary. We successfully tendered for all of our recommended proposals and were appointed to carry out every one.
