PROJECT DESCRIPTION

BWB have been involved as geo-environmental, civil and structural engineering design consultants for Nottingham Business Park development since its inception in 1995. Due to this invested knowledge, we were appointed as Civil and Structural Engineers for the 4 star Nottingham Belfry Hotel for the Marriott chain of hotels

The site was on a former limestone mining park and treatment of existing shafts and adits included grouting capping and venting the shafts. Lime stabilisation was required to provide a good working platform for the construction traffic.

BWB also undertook computer ground modelling to determine earthworks cut/fill requirements and to optimise plot plateau levels. Since the construction of the hotel, BWB continues to provide the Business Park developers with strategic advice on the excavation and placement of earthworks for the main infrastructure and the plot developments, as well as undertaking the requisite works
