BWB short-listed for NCE100 Awards
14 August 2020
BWB is exceptionally proud to have been short-listed in 2 of the 3 categories we submitted entries for in the prestigious New Civil Engineer NCE Awards 2020.
Impact in Cities is something we’ve been achieving since BWB was founded in 1990 in our home city of Nottingham, and whose evolving streetscape and skyline has been heavily impacted over this time by our talented engineers and environmental consultants. Nottingham’s NG2 Business Park together with Birmingham’s Pebble Mill and Arena Central developments were used to showcase BWB’s work in transforming cities. To be recognised, on a national stage during our 30th Anniversary year, for the urban and economic regeneration that our projects have on cities across the UK is a symbolic cherry on our birthday cake!
It’s also fitting that the ground-breaking work being undertaken by Deetu, our specialist digital technology business, has been recognised by NCE and shortlisted in the Excellence in Data Analytics and Big Data category alongside high-profile players such as Arcadis, Buro Happold and Mott MacDonald. Deetu’s recent development and application of digital technology tools for public consultation and stakeholder engagement is being used to great effect by forward thinking public and private sector Clients alike. As the UK seeks to Build, Build, Build its way out of recession and at the same time rebalance its economy it’s imperative that investment is targeted on projects that can make the biggest difference to the communities they’re intended to serve. Digital engagement is a proven and powerful means to connect with the public to shape those scheme proposals at an early stage and obtain public support
Unfortunately, the Covid19 restrictions mean that we will have to remain patient until February 2021 for the Awards Ceremony! In the meantime, fingers crossed……
