Matt Allcard joins to lead BWB Buildings Asset Management Service

We are delighted to announce that Matt Allcard MRICS has joined BWB Consulting as Commercial Director, based in our Leeds office.  Matt has joined to lead BWB’s Buildings Asset Management Service, which is part of our Buildings and Built Environment Group.

Matt has a tremendous, broad based background within property development.  A chartered surveyor having cut his teeth in the consultancy environment, Matt has subsequently worked directly as a developer and indeed on his own development projects.  He has subsequently developed particular skills at managing the delivery of projects for a wide mix of Clients.  He is well versed in co-ordinating multi-disciplinary consultant teams and that, coupled with a full understanding of the property life cycle, provides a fantastic set of skills that will benefit our business and our Clients. 

In a recent blog, ‘Delivering Best Value In The Property Industry By Thinking Beyond Planning, Design And Construction’ (click here to view the article), we set out how we have been shaping part of our business, to suit an emerging requirement from many of our Clients, to be able to provide advisory services across the whole life cycle of a building or infrastructure asset.

Much of our work is delivered in a digital environment through 3d modelling (BIM) with intelligent data sets ascribed to key assets within that model.  We recognise that the development of that model is of increasing importance in understanding and managing the ‘whole life cost’ of delivering and maintaining our Client’s assets.  It is a tremendously powerful tool that can be maintained well beyond our involvement in a project which traditionally ends at practical completion. 

Internally managing and co-ordinating our consulting services to deliver this ‘whole life’ thinking and having a thorough understanding of our Client’s needs in that regard is an hugely important role if we are to realise our vision of delivering best value to our clients.  Matt’s background and deep understanding of property development provides such a skill set and we are delighted that he has agreed to join us to develop this service further.
