ENVIRONMENT TEAM EXPANDS AT BWB MANCHESTER
02 May 2018
BWB Consulting has boosted its capability to deliver environmental services across the north west with two recent appointments to its Manchester office. Lucy Elmer has joined the team as an Acoustic Consultant while Kourosh Azimi has recently been recruited as Regional Geotechnical Lead. The appointments of Lucy and Kourosh are the latest in a flurry of hires which have rapidly expanded the office’s Environment team. In the last 18 months BWB has also brought in Claire Meddings to head up the Air Quality team and Mike Barrett to lead the Acoustics, Noise and Vibration team.
Iqbal Rasool, Service Director of BWB’s Environment Group, said: “Building on our reputation for pre-planning and environmental expertise, in a short period of time BWB have successfully established a dedicated pre-planning service. This service has grown significantly through a recruitment drive of key environmental specialists delivering expertise in the field of environmental project management, air quality, acoustics, ecology and heritage. The provision of this in-house capability, supplementing our other more established pre-planning services such as flood risk, site investigation & contaminated land, geotechnics, traffic & transportation, utilities and building physics has enabled BWB to build a reputation for providing comprehensive offering to the development and infrastructure sectors.”
BWB’s Manchester office has provided multi-disciplinary environmental and transport support on the recently approved Royal Canal Works residential scheme in Stretford. It also part of the team delivering the new city centre residential development Islington Wharf.
Mike Barrett said: “There are a staggering number of opportunities in the regional market for knowledgeable environmental specialists to contribute to our future living environments, both in the heart of our cities, and more remote areas. We continue to help our clients to identify constraints early and help them meet their aspirations through quality design. We will be growing our Acoustics team even further in Manchester over the coming months to capitalise on the great work we have done to date”.
In addition to the new members of the Environment Group, BWB Manchester has also recently welcomed Dominic Knowles as Senior Technician within the Structural Engineering team.
