Award Winning Office Premises
02 April 2012
On March 30th, the Chartered Institute of Building held its annual East Midlands award ceremony in Nottingham.
The most prestigious award of the night was for the Project of the Year which was won by Interserve Construction Limited for their headquarters building at Watermead Business Park, Leicester - the UK's first carbon negative Passivhaus commercial office.
As part of the design team, BWB Consulting were there to help collect the award, along with CPW (energy specialists), architect CPMG, Interserve (client and contractor) and Tom Watkinson (Raynsway Properties - owner of Watermead Business Park).
The state of the art building incorporates triple glazed windows, manufactured in Wales, and a 132sqm photovoltaic array that produces more energy than required to run the building, resulting in significant annual energy savings.
