BWB is delighted to announce the appointment of Simon Harden as Business Growth Director to help lead and grow our London office. Since establishing our presence in the capital in 2010 we have been privileged to work with a wide variety of Clients and fellow professionals on many prestigious projects including Millharbour, Sugar House Island, Lewisham Gateway and Somerleyton Road.
The growth and further development of this flagship office remains an important strategic business objective and, in that regard, there is renewed commitment and focus from each of our Groups to achieve this corporate goal. Iqbal Rassool is leading the Environment Group’s increased input into securing new opportunities, particularly in the realm of Environmental Planning and Dave Stairmand is focussing on the provision of building physics and asset management services. Individuals from across the T&I Group are providing support to London colleagues in Design, Planning and Infrastructure Management. Simon Harden’s impressive track record in leading multi-disciplinary engineering and environmental input into complex and challenging projects for blue-chip Clients will undoubtedly provide a strong platform in London from which we can win and deliver a future portfolio of high profile projects.
Simon has proven expertise in helping Clients deliver prestigious and technically challenging development projects, with many years’ experience gained as a PLC director at Waterman Group and more recently as Director of Retail at WSP UK. Some of his more notable projects include 99 Bishopsgate, London, the Bull Ring in Birmingham and the recent comprehensive refurbishment of Meadowhall, Sheffield. International projects of note include Al Muneera at Al Raha Beach, UAE and the Abu Dhabi Plaza project in Astana, Kazakhstan.
Commenting on his appointment Simon said: “BWB has clear ambition to grow across disciplines and sectors, with the expertise and firepower to deliver. It has an experienced team, a strong entrepreneurial streak, and some significant opportunities in London which I will be pursuing.”
Chief Executive Steve Wooler, commented: “Simon is a vastly experienced engineer with an exceptional track record of delivery and business development. We’ve invested heavily in establishing presence in London, which is reflected in the calibre of the projects we’ve been working on. Simon will build on those foundations to extend our reach still further and help us achieve some significant growth ambitions.”
