Matt, Pete and Josh with their well-deserved medals

09 February 2018

Three cyclists from BWB tackled a gruelling 24-hour endurance race at the weekend and raised over £1,500 for charity. BWB’s Pete Davies, Matt Stratford, Josh Ashtari were joined by three other cyclists including Steve Baldwin from Knight Webb for the Cyclone 24 challenge at Derby Arena.

The six-strong squad completed the nonstop relay and covered 3454 laps which equals 536 miles. Out of the 19 teams who participated our plucky peddlers crossed the line in 9th place, demonstrating real strength, determination and team spirit.

The squad chose to support Mind Charity and have so far raised an impressive total of £1,541 through donations to their Justgiving page.

Pete Davies, who led the team, said: “It was incredible but completely exhausting! Our aim was to complete 3300 laps but we smashed this with a massive 3454. Massive thanks to those who have sponsored us so far - it made all the pains and aches worthwhile.”

There's still time to donate - visit the Justgiving page here:
