
BWB have been involved as civil and structural engineering design consultants for this industrial/warehouse development since its inception in 1997. When complete, the development will comprise a mixture of B1, B2 and B8 usage within a 50 acre site situated close to M1 Junction 24/24A.
BWB have provided civil and structural engineering advice and design services for the adoptable on-site and off-site infrastructure required to serve the development, and for the detailed design of all the building works within the Business Park.
Prior to development, the majority of the site was situated in flood plain of the River Trent. Flood compensation ponds were constructed adjacent to the development site and the site levels raised accordingly to meet Environment Agency requirements. BWB designed and supervised this major earthworks upfilling exercise which was carried out in two phases in 1998/1999. The site has subsequently been developed in a phased manner with only one or two remaining plots available for development.
