Pride Park Commercial and Industrial Park is one of the East Midlands´ premier locations for business and industry and has attracted considerable inward investment for Derby City since its establishment in the late 1990s.
Originally the site was derelict industrial land that historically had been used by the rail, gas and aggregate industries. This meant that much of the site was heavily impacted by contamination and ground gases, and inpart was landfill.
With the support of EMDA, Derby City Council formed a development agency to lead the regeneration. However a major break through for the re development was the relocation to Pride Park of Derby County Football Club.
BWB Consulting assisted the club and the Council consider the environmental impact of various proposed locations for the Stadium and solutions to mitigate the soil contamination when its location was decided.
Subsequently BWB Consulting has provided a full range of integrated and environmental services to a variety of developers mostly notably Cedar House Investments, Prime Holdings and Commercial Developments Projects.
These services have helped developers overcome many constraints set out within the framework of the Pride Park development strategy, in particular the residual ground contamination, containment walls, ground gas and settlement issues
BWB consulting has now supported the development of over 400,000 sq ft offices at Midland Place, Pride Place, Pride Point, Centro, Waterside Place, Patriot Way and Prospect Place together with 100,000 sq ft of industrial units.
