This residential project being built on behalf of the Metropolitan Housing Trust comprises the refurbishment of a three storey Mill building and a new six storey building adjacent to it.
The refurbishment of the Mill building required a load analysis of the existing structure to ensure that the enhanced acoustic floor construction which included a screed layer was within its design limits.
The new building consisted of a steel frame with slimflor beam and precast unit design to give a minimal slab depth due to height restrictions but to allow maximum use of the height allowed for apartments.
