Nottingham Business Park

Location: Nottingham

BWB have been involved as geo-environmental, civil and structural engineering design consultants for this major regional business park development since its inception in 1995. When complete, the development will comprise approximately 850,000 sq.ft of high-quality office space within a 120 acre landscaped parkland setting. Nottingham Business Park is situated adjacent to M1 Junction 26 on the north-western outskirts of the city.

BWB are providing on-going geo-environmental, civil and structural engineering advice and design services for the adoptable on-site and off-site infrastructure required to serve the development. We have also been responsible for the design of the individual office buildings constructed to date, together with the hotel development adjacent to the site access. Significant off-site highway improvements on the A6002 Woodhouse Way on the site frontage have been required, requiring negotiations with both Nottingham City Council and Nottinghamshire County Council. The on-site works include balancing pond features and extensive adoptable drainage infrastructure to the approval of Severn Trent Water and adoptable highway works to the approval of Nottingham City Council. The scheme is being developed in a phased manner with further on-site infrastructure and off-site highway improvements being required as the development expands.

BWB have also undertaken computer ground modelling to determine earthworks cut/fill requirements and to optimise plot plateau levels. BWB continue to provide the Client with strategic advice on the excavation and placement of earthworks for the main infrastructure and the plot developments, and to carry out the requisite supervision of works on site.
