National Apprenticeship Week 2017

National Apprenticeship Week (#NAW2017) is co-ordinated by the National Apprenticeship Service and is designed to celebrate apprenticeships and traineeships and the positive impact they have on individuals, businesses and the wider economy. 

The BWB Group is pleased that over 10% of our new recruits in the last 12 months have been apprentices/trainees.  We’re not stopping there.  Nicola Macdonnell, Group Resourcing Partner said "It’s a key objective of our recruitment and retention strategies to attract and develop our early careers intake and to provide them with an environment where their careers can develop".

Harry Horton, a Trainee Quantity Surveyor said ‘As an up and coming young construction professional, I feel valued within the company, mostly because of the level of trust and involvement I have in a variety of projects. This allows me to quickly learn about the construction industry and my role within it. Not only does this benefit me but also the company as I can get involved with more tasks that may be similar to ones I have done before. Being able to find the right path at an early stage has helped me to plan, progress and hopefully pursue a successful long term career. On the recruitment side of things, it is great that BWB/QMP has a structure in place for young people as this gives me confidence in future opportunities to arise.’

Sam Hadley, a Trainee Technician for BWB said “Since joining BWB Consulting, almost a year ago, I have enjoyed myself both at work and at college doing Civil Engineering. It has been interesting learning things at college that I can then go on to apply and improve on at work. I was recruited through the national apprenticeship website and I found the process efficient and to echo the values of BWB Consulting”
