After the successful completion of Hull Colleges Performing Arts Centre BWB were retained as engineers for the college's new Motor Vehicle Training Centre located at Cannon Street, Hull.

The training centre comprises workshop and vehicle maintenance bays together with meeting rooms, classrooms and canteen facilities.

BWB have undertaken the geo-environmental investigations on the site and subsequently undertaken the civil structural design of the buildings and external works/service areas.

The site is underlain by made ground overlying soft organic alluvial clays. This required a piled solution for the foundations and a reinforced concrete piled solution for the floor slab. The design of the piles and ground slab was undertaken in house in with the input of the preferred contractor to provide the most economical solution in terms of cost and buildability.
