Derby Football Club Academy and Training Centre

Derby County Football Club’s new £5 million state-of-the-art football academy and training centre at Moor Farm, Derby.

Situated on a 43-acre Greenfield site, the centre will provide the club with high quality training facilities, including six full-size pitches, two three-quarter size and two half-size as well as an indoor training pitch.

BWB undertook a 3 dimensional modelling exercise to ensure the academy blends into the surrounding rural environment. All relevant ecological issues have been addressed ensuring that opportunities for the propagation of wildlife are maintained and enhanced.

A major earthworks exercise requiring the cut and fill of 70,000 m3 of earth was undertaken to remodel the ground to enable the buildings to nestle into the site and conceal the larger elements from the main road.

Incorporated with in this exercise was a new open balancing pond two attenuate surface water runoff from the new pitch drainage before discharging into the surrounding land drainage system.

The new Amenities Building provides the football club with first class teaching and facilities for the players together with changing and treatment rooms.
